How it works

Catch it. Text back. Land it.

KeptSolid catches the call your shop couldn't take, texts the caller back within seconds, collects the job by text, and lands it as a card on your Jobber or Housecall Pro board. Emergencies ring a person. Board write-back is running in a labeled Jobber sandbox pilot. Until it's switched on for your shop, the job comes to your phone as a text with the caller's name, address, problem, and preferred window filled in, ready for the board.

01

Catch

A call rings out. You're on a roof, under a house, or the dispatcher is on the other line with the supply house. The missed call is the trigger. Nobody picks up, and no bot talks to the caller. You keep your number and your voicemail.

What you see

  • A missed-call entry with the number and time
  • A tag for why: mid-job, after hours, or overflow
  • Nothing else. The caller heard your normal voicemail

02

Text back and collect

Within seconds the caller gets a text from your shop's name, in wording you approved. They text back what's wrong, the address, and when someone's home. KeptSolid asks for whatever's missing, one question at a time, and never quotes a price or promises an arrival time.

What you see

  • The text thread, both sides, on your phone
  • The problem in the caller's own words
  • Address and window, or a note that they didn't say

Land it on the board

The job shows up as a card: name, phone, address, problem, preferred window. It comes to your phone as a text, one tap from the board, and in the Jobber pilot it's written to the board with the service type you set. A confirmation text goes to the caller. You dispatch like you do today.

What you see

  • A job card with every field the caller gave you
  • On Jobber, the job on the board under the service type you chose
  • The confirmation the caller got, word for word

Emergencies still reach a person

A 2 AM no-heat call with a baby in the house still reaches a person. The caller gets the text-back, then your on-call number rings and the thread is forwarded. You choose the words that count. Most shops start with these.

  • Gas smell, sparks, burning smell, water near the panel
  • No heat or no cool with a baby, an elderly parent, or a medical device in the house
  • Water where it shouldn't be: ceiling, walls, floor, a main that won't shut

You stay in control

Automation only helps if it does what you'd do. These are the switches.

  • Approve before write: every job waits for your tap before it goes on the board.
  • Quiet hours: no texts go out to callers between the hours you set, except the emergency words.
  • Service-type rules: pick which jobs land straight on the board and which come to you first, like changeouts and repipes.
  • On-call list: whose phone rings on an emergency, in what order, and what time of night the order changes.

Questions

Questions owners ask first

How is this different from an AI receptionist?

KeptSolid does not answer your phone with a bot or talk to your callers. When a call is missed, it texts the caller back, collects the job by text, and gets it onto your board. You decide what goes on the board, when, and who rolls.

What happens if the caller doesn't reply to the text?

Nothing is booked and nothing else is sent unless you've set a follow-up. You still see the missed call and the number, so you can call back when you have a free hand.

Can I approve jobs before they land on the board?

Yes. Turn on approve-before-write and every job waits for your tap before KeptSolid writes it to Jobber.

Does it work when the shop is closed?

Yes. After-hours calls are the ones nobody is there to take, so they're where a text-back matters most. The caller gets a text at 9 PM, texts back the job, and it's on the board when dispatch opens the laptop. Emergency words ring the on-call phone at any hour.

Do I need a new phone number?

No. You keep your business number and your voicemail. KeptSolid sits behind your carrier's no-answer forwarding. Board write-back is running in a labeled Jobber sandbox pilot. Until it's switched on for your shop, the job comes to your phone as a text with the caller's name, address, problem, and preferred window filled in, ready for the board.
